Terms & Conditions

Last updated 6 June 2026

These terms govern membership of The Horizon Circle and participation in any journey, retreat, or experience arranged through us. Please read them before you join — joining means you accept them.

Not legal advice

This page is provided for information only and is not legal advice. It is a plain-English summary of how we operate, not a substitute for advice on your own circumstances. Where it conflicts with a signed agreement between us, that agreement prevails.

Membership and renewal

Memberships are annual and renew automatically on the anniversary of your first payment, at the rate then published, until you cancel. Your renewal date is shown in the Member Portal.

You may cancel at any time through the billing portal linked from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not refund the current year, and access continues until the paid term ends.

Apex Guild is by invitation. Submitting an application creates no contract and takes no payment. Where an application is accepted, terms are agreed separately in writing before any invoice is raised.

Prices shown on this site are the current published annual rates. We may change published rates for new members or at renewal, and we will tell you before a change affects your renewal. Once you have joined, your rate is held for the term you have paid for.

Journeys and experiences

Every cultural experience runs on terms set by the host community, as described in our Indigenous Partnership Principles. Group sizes, dates, sites, and what may be photographed or recorded are set by the community and are not negotiable at any tier.

Access to specific experiences depends on your membership tier. Tier inclusions are described on the Journeys and Membership pages and may change as communities revise their terms.

We may postpone, relocate, or withdraw from an experience where a community asks us to, where a permit is refused, or where conditions make the visit unsafe or unwelcome. Where that happens we will offer an alternative date or a proportionate credit.

Members are expected to observe the protocol briefing issued before departure. We reserve the right to end a member's participation, without refund, where protocol is disregarded or a host asks us to intervene.

Travel arrangements and third parties

Paired stays, flights, and other travel products are supplied by third parties — including our sister brand Travel Club Navigator — under their own booking terms. We introduce and coordinate; we are not the supplier of those services.

Global mobility, residency, and relocation counsel is provided by Niiji Consulting Inc trading as Niiji Global under its own engagement terms. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, or immigration advice.

You are responsible for your own passports, visas, permits, vaccinations, and travel insurance. We strongly recommend comprehensive insurance including medical evacuation for remote and Arctic itineraries.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our total liability in connection with your membership is limited to the membership fees you have paid to us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party suppliers, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including weather, ice conditions, permit decisions, strikes, and community closures.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will tell you before it takes effect, and you may cancel without penalty if you do not accept it.

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Horizon Circle is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction.
